PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Mr. Kinsella has over 30 years of experience covering a broad range of architectural projects for both the public and private sectors. As President of The Backyard Collaborative, Inc., Mr. Kinsella has been responsible for a variety of high and low rise residential single and multi-family projects ranging in construction value from $25,000 to $20 million . Also, projects which have been funded by HUD, through Hope VI funding initiatives, federal and state tax credit and community block development grants, Massachusetts housing finance, and Massachusetts housing and community development. Projects have ranged in scope from high-rise construction consisting of a mixed use of 400 units of housing, a parking garage, and retail space, to recent work including the redevelopment of a 4 story historic row house and an historic hotel. The practice consists of a strong residential component and light commercial with emphasis on multifamily. Similar past projects that Mr. Kinsella has been involved with include the renovation of Franklin Park Housing, renovation of Pennypacker and Hurlbut Halls at Harvard University, 194 Middle Street, Lowell, and the conversion of the FM Hoyt Shoe Company to market rate lofts.
Mr. Kinsella has held primary responsibility for design planning, execution of document preparation, management of architectural teams (of 9 persons) bid phase services, construction administration of projects from 150,000 to $5.3 million, and management of multiple design projects simultaneously. Other project-type experience has included: office, R&D, civic, institutional, infrastructure.
As president of tbc Mr. Kinsella oversees the operations of all services provided by tbc, both architectural and construction. This allows clients to receive the benefit of an integrated budget with their design project. Additionally, Mr. Kinsella functions as project manager for many of the construction projects undertaken.
Other skills that Mr. Kinsella has developed include marketing, project management, cost control, value engineering and construction supervision.

Numerous publications of past projects, planning of sequencing of construction in occupied buildings, value engineering, planning and implementing work on accelerated schedules, cost estimating and construction management.
